Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp matcha powder

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Directions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180C (350F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • 3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • 5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
  • 6. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • 7. Scoop the dough into 1 inch balls and roll each ball generously in powdered sugar to coat.
  • 8. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
